“If You Believe” Gala Theme
This year’s theme for our 16th Annual Gala was, “If You Believe”. This fundraising event allowed us to finally come together in person as we celebrated this happy occasion of being together once again. It also allowed us to showcase various projects and initiatives that were funded by our mini-grant programs in the past two years as well as recognize some of our Star and Community Partners.
This year’s theme, If you Believe, meant so much to all of us at SEC. Because no matter what difficulties or setbacks SEC experienced during the pandemic, we all believed in the importance of keeping SEC programs opened and running for all our participants, whether it was virtually or in person.
At SEC, we believe in our mission. We believe we can make a difference in how society perceives people with special needs, through our inclusive art-based programs, that highlights each and everyone’s unique talents and ABLILITIES.
We believe that we can redefine the definition of disability… and we believe that all things are possible with the support of our donors!
Due to Covid restrictions again in February 2022, we chose to stick with an online approach for the second straight year, in hopes that our loyal advocates and supporters like you will help SEC to raise the shortfall of 50K, arising out of these unique circumstances of this global pandemic.
It is only with your generous support in our fundraising campaign that we can continue to offer quality programs at an affordable fee.Thank you so much for your support of our campaign!
Because of the support we receive from people like you who believe in our vision of a world that recognizes the uniqueness of each person, and where “differences don’t matter,” the Sara Elizabeth Centre can continue to provide exceptional inclusive and interactive art-based programs to all our young adults with special needs.
With the additional funds raised , we can now look into expanding our programming to include technology training and a virtual program that will enhance the knowledge of basic software applications, online tools, and internet social media platforms for both personal and professional purposes.
Once again, SEC was chosen as a receipient of the City of Vaughan, Mayor’s Spirit of Generosity Fund for 2020.
We thank the Mayor, Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua, for his continued support in the meaningful work we do in our community and beyond so that we can continue to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
