Don Smith

President

Don Smith has served as President of Blue Veil Charity since its founding in 2006 and is one of its original founders. With over 50 years of entrepreneurial experience in the wholesale and retail industry, along with studies in Business Administration and Marketing Management from Ryerson University, he brings strong leadership and business insight to the organization. He has also held long-standing leadership roles with Loblaws, mentoring both youth and adult staff.
A dedicated member of his church community since 1982, Don is deeply involved in faith formation and is well loved at the Sara Elizabeth Centre for his hands-on support, including volunteering his time to assist participants on community outings. His compassion, patience, and commitment to individuals with special needs are at the heart of his service.

Cris Smith

Executive Director

Cris Smith is the founder and Executive Director of Blue Veil Charity and the Sara Elizabeth Centre, where she leads inclusive, arts-based programs for young adults with special needs. With a background in Business Administration and Marketing from Ryerson University and over 45 years of experience, she brings strong leadership and vision to her work. In June 2025, she was honoured as a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Deeply rooted in her faith, Cris has been an active member of St. Benedict’s Parish and a dedicated Salesian Cooperator, supporting youth and families for decades. She also founded Sara’s Corner, a support group for parents of children with special needs.

A published author of Let the Spirit Fly Wherever it Takes You and The Heart of Listening, Cris is passionate about service, community, and inclusion. 

Dino DiMatteo

Chair of the Board

Dino Di Matteo brings over 25 years of experience in sales, fundraising, and corporate partnerships, having worked as a Sales Manager with various organizations since 1995. As Chair of the Board for the Sara Elizabeth Centre for the past 13 years, he has played a key role in guiding the organization’s growth and sustainability. Dino is instrumental in driving fundraising efforts, using his strong negotiation, relationship-building, and customer service skills to secure donations, sponsorships, and auction items. His strategic approach and dedication have significantly strengthened the Centre’s ability to deliver programs and expand its impact within the community.

Cathy Turco

Vice Chair of the Board

Cathy Turco serves as Executive Assistant to the Associate Director of Education at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. She has contributed to numerous school, board, and community committees, particularly within Caledon, and has been an active parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in Wildfield for over 30 years.

Guided by her faith, Cathy is deeply involved in charitable outreach, including initiatives like Hope for Haiti. She is also Vice Chair and an Executive Board member of the Sara Elizabeth Centre, a registered charity supporting the social inclusion of children, youth, and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities through arts-based programs.

As a parent of a child with special needs, Cathy is a passionate advocate for inclusion and acceptance. Her daughter has profoundly shaped her faith and purpose, inspiring her to speak at community events and support other families on a similar journey.

Mary Rinaldi

Board of Director / Secretary

Mary Rinaldi brings over 25 years of experience as a Graphic Designer, with a diploma from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology. She spent 10 years freelancing before working more than 18 years with the York Catholic District School Board.

As a creative professional, Mary contributes her expertise to develop impactful designs that support the Sara Elizabeth Centre’s marketing, fundraising, social media, and overall brand identity. She has been a dedicated member of the Board of Directors since the Centre’s founding in 2006.

An active member of the Richmond Hill community and parishioner at Our Lady Queen of the World, Mary volunteers her talents across various ministries and initiatives. Her creativity and experience play a key role in effectively communicating and promoting SEC’s programs.

Lucy Sullivan

Board Member

Lucy Sullivan is a former Branch Manager at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), one of Canada’s Big Five banks. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University in Accounting and Finance, she brings over 40 years of senior leadership experience in the banking industry.

Guided by the belief that “if you can believe it, you can achieve it,” Lucy has supported both employee growth and clients’ financial success through strong leadership and open communication.

Her extensive experience allows her to contribute valuable insight and best practices to the Sara Elizabeth Centre, where she is committed to making a meaningful difference while supporting new initiatives and growth.

Sandra Liaros

Board Member

Sandra Liaros is a Store Front Manager with Shoppers Drug Mart in Stouffville, bringing over 20 years of experience overseeing daily operations and leading staff.

Active in her community, she serves on the Board of Trustees for the Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library, contributing to both human resources and fundraising committees, and regularly volunteers during federal and municipal elections.

Sandra brings strong expertise in leadership, strategic planning, project management, budgeting, and governance to the Sara Elizabeth Centre. She is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the young adults at SEC through her experience and dedication.

Rosina Di Felice

Board Member

Rosina Di Felice brings to SEC her years of experience in marketing and social media. Born in Toronto 54 years ago, and raised in Montreal, Rosina studied at McGill University BCom ’87 (Double Concentration in Marketing and Finance). She has worked for large media advertising agencies (McCann Erickson, Initiative Media, Saatchi + Saatchi, Starcom) in media planning, as a Senior Planning Manager for 20 years until moving to Salt + Light Catholic Media Foundation where she presently works as a Ambassador/Administration utilizing her experience in marketing and social media.
Rosina has been a parishioner at St. Benedict Parish since 1999. She was inducted as a Salesian Cooperator on December 9, 2018. Rosina has a long parish volunteer history, as a Catechist for Confirmation and has sat on various committees such as, Golf Committee, Fundraising/Finance and Synergy Committee. Currently Rosina continues to be an active member of her parish as a Lector and Liturgy of the Word for Children Leader while also volunteering her talent and experience as the Parish Facebook and Instagram Page Administrator and Parish Photographer.

Lora Ferrazzo

Board Member

Lora Ferrazzo is Managing Partner of Artistic Skylight, a second-generation company and recipient of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce 2019 Business Achievement Award for Manufacturing, as well as a 2022 finalist. With over 25 years of leadership, she has driven the company’s growth and expansion into international markets, bringing Energy Star–certified products to clients across North America, Europe, and beyond.

A graduate of the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), Lora leads the company’s global export strategy. She is an active member of IIBEC, contributing to its Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, and has received multiple awards for her leadership and volunteer service. In June 2025, she was honoured as a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Deeply committed to community and mentorship, Lora supports various charitable causes and regularly engages with students and emerging professionals, promoting opportunities for women in trades, STEM, and manufacturing.
